Moonphases unfolded from a dark time. I was completely exhausted — numbed by moving along imposed, linear systems and expectations that were never attuned to me, the connection to my own body and rhythm lost. Searching for a way to feel again, I turned outside every evening, to the moon: a fixed point that itself moved through dark and light, at times even fully darkened.
She became a mirror and a dear entity — a presence in which I found resonance, as I learned to allow the phases of dark and light within. That nightly ritual became a turning point — the beginning of a different life: living from a cyclical understanding of time and my own rhythms.
The natural movement of opening and closing that also belongs to us.
A painted scroll for each phase of the moon, inspired by the Japanese kakejiku. My own connection to her, held in cloth — together forming a ritual space that invites you inward: toward body and imagination, and what arises when you meet your own dark and light.
