WILD PIGMENTS
Wild Pigments is a collection of textile screen prints created using natural inks made from wild flowers. This project explores the intimate connection between the artist and the materials, through a reciprocal relationship and with the surrounding landscape. The process involves respectfully gathering wild flowers, creating the inks and performing the screen printing as a meditative ritual, reflecting the transient and untamed beauty of the harvest season. The work embodies the fleeting and delicate sensuality found in the wildflowers, accentuated by the interplay of light and shadows during the golden hour.
The pieces showcase the intimacy between the artist and the materials, where both the artist and the materials express themselves through each other. Moreover, the project highlights the interconnection between the artist’s inner landscape and the outer landscape, which mirror each other seamlessly.
